Roy is still the only Australian to hold the ISA's "Certified Tree worker Certificate". He is also an ISA "Certified Arborist" of which there are only 3 in NSW and one other in Australia.

In 1999, Roy was Head Judge of the NSW Tree Climbing Championships. When offered, Roy accepted the role as Head Judge of the Australian Tree Climbing Championships but graciously stepped aside to Assistant Head Judge, when Rip Tompkins, a 3 times world champion, arrived from USA.

In 1997, Roy spent 6 months in USA networking and working with some of the best arborists in the world as well as attending 9 conferences.

Roy Cody B.Sc., Dip. Ed., taught Maths for 22 years before founding Roy's Tree Service in 1989. Roy has set a new standard of tree work to Tamworth, North West, New England and Hunter regions. "DIFFICULT JOBS OUR SPECIALTY" has been Roy's slogan right from early days, although his knowledge, skill and expertise have increased greatly over the years.

Roy has an extensive collection of wood samples showing faults, lopping regrowth, fungus, insect attack etc. This display has turned heads, taught many people valuable lessons about their trees as well as earning Roy many ribbons, trophies and recognition in his profession.

Roy has won the Country Music Cavalcade "Best Commercial Float" in 2000 and also 2001. He has also been a popular and entertaining Guest Speaker at Garden Clubs and many other organisations.
